One of my friends said he'd only do it if I made a stack of pregens, because he intended to either get every single one of them killed or drive them to the brink of pants-wetting gibbering madness.
Standard modus operandi with Dan. You don't want to see what he does to D&D characters. But I digress.
Fine, I agreed. The next morning, though, I thought 'self, why spend two hours making ten pregens when you can spend ten hours, use your Real Life Job Skills (tm) and make an infinite number of pregens?!'

Uses 1920's CoC 5.0, because that's the version I have and play. Does everything but random gear and character maintenance.
Fairly self-explanatory to use. Click buttons, receive bacon. The about button explains in some further detail.
My current favorite random character:
Lina Barker. Your typical Lovecraftian antiquarian: greedy, hot-tempered, hates children, used to work as a carny and highly skilled in drunken brawling. Also fluent in Swedish and Latin.
Anyway, if anybody's feeling generous, I wouldn't mind picking the collection creative minds of this fine venue to expand the selection of appropriate random shit that can come up during generation. My only two requests are a) gender-neutral and b) kinda sorta appropriate to the 1920's if you squint your eyes and look at them sideways.
Here's the current lists:
Excuses: this is the justification your character gives if they spent an extra year taking gen ed courses (for the extra personal interest skill points). If your character opts for that, it explains why at the end of the description. Think 'I spent a year travelling overseas.'
Languages: I think I've covered the most common ones and a few of the not so common ones, but lay 'em on me if you can think of some great ones to add to the list. Sorry, native language is always English for now.
Occupations: All occupations from the 5.0 core rulebook. Some of the skill lists have been tweaked to make it a little easier to cope with programmatically. I've also weighted them by how 'Lovecraftian' they feel, on a scale of 1 - 5. So antiquarians are 5, tribal fishermen are 1.
Personality: the generator picks 1d3 of these, along with 1d3 quirks and forms two rather awkward sentences. Examples of personality traits: 'studious', 'cruel', 'a liar', 'has mild OCD' and so on.
Quirks: things that make your character unique or stand out. Examples: 'freckles', 'prone to aphorisms', 'over-enunciates' and so on.
